CHEDDAR CHEESE PEPPER BREAD | |
1 stick butter 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 3/4 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt 8 oz. grated sharp Cheddar cheese 2 eggs 8 oz. plain yogurt Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter and flour 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. In a small sauce pan melt butter and set aside to cool. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, pepper, baking soda and salt. Stir in Cheddar cheese. In a medium bowl lightly beat eggs. Stir in yogurt and butter. Add to flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are just moistened. Spoon into loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. |
