FRESH STRAWBERRY PUDDING 
4 egg yolks, beaten well
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cornstarch
4 c. milk
Dash of salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Layer vanilla wafers
Fresh chunked strawberries
4 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks well. Add 1 cup sugar and cornstarch; mix until smooth. Add milk and salt; cook slowly until thick. Cool. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla; layer vanilla wafers, fresh chunked strawberries and cooled pudding. Repeat layers, as many as needed. It depends on type of container used. Always end with pudding on top. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until thick and glossy. Do not under beat. Beat in vanilla. Heap on pudding. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
