IRISH SODA BREAD 
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. raisins
1 egg
2/3 c. buttermilk

Stir together flour, baking soda, and sugar. Blend in 6 tablespoons of butter. Add raisins. With a fork, stir in 1 egg and 2/3 cup of buttermilk or sour milk. Mixture should form a ball. Place into a greased shallow 8 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
