2 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. corn syrup 1 sm. pinch baking soda 1 tbsp. butter 1 c. evaporated milk 2 tbsp. bourbon (opt.) 3 c. walnut or pecan halves Combine sugar, syrup, soda, butter and milk in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat to firm ball stage, 242 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and pecans or walnuts. Beat until it thickens and looks creamy. Drop by spoonful on waxed paper and let cool. |
