GRANDMA JOHNSEN'S ALMOND TOFFEE 
1 lb. nucoa, slowly melted
2 c. white sugar
1/2 lb. cut up almonds
Pinch of salt
4 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 lg. Hershey chocolate bar
Finely chopped walnuts

Melt nucoa and add next 5 ingredients. Turn heat on medium-high and cook until smells toasty, stirring constantly. When boiling well, turn heat down just below medium. Pour into buttered pan and cover thinly with melted Hershey's chocolate bar. Add finely chopped walnuts and let harden. Turn candy over, repeating the chocolate and walnut process.

Use of an old black skillet on first part recommended.
