MOM'S GERMAN COOKIES 
5 c. flour
2 c. butter (softened)
1 c. sugar
1 c. ground almonds
4 egg yolks

Mix flour and butter. Add sugar. Mix well. Add almonds and egg yolks, blend well. Roll into manageable cylinder shaped lengths on wax paper. Cover and refrigerate to chill dough.

Then cut in 1 1/2 inch lengths. Quarter each length to form "logs". Dip two sides in vanilla extract and then granulated sugar. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until set and very light brown.
