3 egg whites
1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
Food coloring & hot water

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Add sugar, vanilla and salt. Divide frosting into cups (custard cups work well). Tint to desired color. Add few drops hot water for "painting". Use paint brushed to decorate cookies.

This is a favorite holiday fun activity. Kids love to paint their own designs. Use different shapes of cookie cutters, depending on the season.
