RICE-A-RONI (Jambalaya) | |
1 c. uncooked rice 1/2 c. uncooked thin spaghetti 2 tbsp. fat or oil 1 tsp. salt and pepper 1/2 c. chopped meat (in sm. cubes) 1 can drained tuna (chunks) 2 1/2 c. hot water 1 beef or chicken bouillon cube 1 med. chopped onion 1 stalk celery 1/2 sm. jar pimento Brown rice in fat in deep pan, add spaghetti and stir until brown. Add chopped onion and celery just before rice and spaghetti are brown (rice will be all white, not brown when ready). Add liquid and seasonings, then meat, tuna and pimento. Stir just to mix well; bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, 20-25 minutes. Serve hot. |
