COCOA PIE 
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
3/4 tsp. salt

Mix and sift cocoa, sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add unbeaten egg yolks with milk and stir well. Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from fire, add vanilla and pour into baked pie crust. Top with meringue and brown in oven (350 degrees).

MERINGUE:

3 tsp. cold water
3 egg whites
6 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Add water and salt to egg whites. Beat until light and frosty. Add cream of tartar. Beat until light and frosty. Add cream of tartar. Beat until nearly stiff. Gradually add sugar beating constantly. Seal meringue so it won't shrink.
