MOM'S SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. lard & butter
3 c. flour or more for rolling out

Combine all ingredients and blend well. Roll out to desired thickness and cut in shapes with cookie cutters. This is very easy dough to work with for rolling and cutting.

Do I add 1 cup of butter and lard or 1 cup of butter OR 1 cup of lard. Both together sounds like too much.

Hi Debbie,

Use a combination of the two; half cup of butter and a half cup of lard will work.
