BAKE STEAK PATTIES | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. pork sausage meat 2 c. cooked white rice 1 egg 6 bacon slices 1 (1 3/8 oz.) pkg. dry onion soup mix 2 tbsp. flour 1. Combine ground beef, sausage, rice and egg. Shape them into 6 patties. Wrap each wwith a bacon slice, secure ith wooden pick. Place in an 11 x 7 inch baking dish. 2. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes; drain off excess fat. 3. Meanwhile, combine soup mix and 2 1/2 cups water. Stir in saucepan. Cook covered 10 minutes. 4. Mix the remaining 1/2 cup water and flour until smooth. Gradually add to soup mixture, stirring until thick. 5. Pour over steak patties and bake additional 20 minutes. Remove picks before serving. NOTE: the gravy may be served with the steak patties or covered and refrigerated. Reheat and serve with mashed potatoes at the next evening meal. |
