1 tender infant, slightly soiled
Several qts. lukewarm water
1 cake mild soap
1 soft washcloth
1 lg. towel
1 tsp. baby oil
2 sprinkles powder
2 to 3 hugs
1 each diaper and shirt
Smiles to taste

Put water in tub to half cover infant; test with elbow thermometer. Next, peel infant until pink skin shows all over. Lift peeled infant gently into tub of water. Soap lightly all over. DO NOT weigh or measure smiles but use them freely as they improve the flavor. Rinse infant with clear water with washcloth. Lift gently (but firmly) from tub and allow to drain briefly on large soft towel. Pat dry. Baste lightly with oil or dredge lightly with powder according to preference. Apply several hugs. Arrange tastefully in crib with a simple garnish of diaper and shirt.
