CANDIED YAMS AND APPLES 
4 med. size yams, about 1 1/2 lbs.
2 lg. apples
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Scrub yams. Do not peel. Cook covered in small amount of boiling water until almost tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and cool. Remove skins and cut into quarters. Cut each apple into eighths. Remove core section. Arrange yams and apples in shallow baking pan. Combine butter, corn syrup and cinnamon; pour over yams and apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour, basting often. Serves 4.
