MELBA'S TAMALE PIE 
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen, whole kernel corn with butter sauce
1 c. cornmeal (or 1 sm. env. prepared mix)
2 tsp. sugar (if you use plain cornmeal)
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 egg

First, defrost corn. Grease a pie pan and press the above mixture into bottom and up sides of the pan to make like a crust.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1 lb. lean burger
1/3 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. chopped green pepper
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. butter
15 1/2 oz. red kidney beans
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c. chopped black olives

Saute burger, remove and drain, use drippings to saute the onions and peppers. Combine the cooked burger, sauteed onions and peppers, tomato sauce, chili, cumin, kidney beans, and pour onto the cornmeal/corn lined pie pan.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and add chopped black olives and shredded cheese. Place in oven long enough to melt cheese, slice and serve. This is even good cold.
