MAMA'S STEW 
1 lb. cubed round steak
2 c. potatoes, cut up
2 or 3 sliced carrots
Several cut up turnips and onions
Sm. can tomatoes
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. oregano

Add water occasionally.

Roll meat in flour and brown. Add other ingredients and simmer slowly for 1 or 2 hours. Stir frequently.

When tender, thicken with flour and water or cornstarch if desired. When consistency is desired, remove bay leaf and serve. Serves 4.
