HOLY SPIRIT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs, separated
1 c. milk
3 c. cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar by hand until light. Add and beat one egg yolk at a time. Sift flour once and measure, add baking powder and salt, sift again. Alternate flour and milk, beating after each addition. Beat egg whites and fold into batter. Makes 2 (9 inch) pans, greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
