NANA'S BEAN SOUP 
1 c. dry pea beans
1 ham bone
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 med. potatoes, diced
2 med. carrots, sliced
1 med. onion, sliced
2 ribs celery, diced
1 tbsp. parsley
1/4 c. ketchup
Salt
Pepper
Celery seed

Soak beans overnight. Drain. Place ham bone in large 8 quart pot. almost cover with water. Add beans and tomatoes. Cook slowly for 3 hours. Remove ham bone and take meat from bone. Return meat to soup. Add potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, parsley and cook 1/2 hour.

Just before serving, add ketchup, salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle with celery seed.
