SOFT SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
4 c. & 4 heaping tsp. flour
(Use your electric mixer)

Cream sugars and shortenings. Add eggs and vanilla; mix. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Let stand in refrigerator until firm enough to handle. (Dough will still be very soft.) Roll into small balls and flatten with fork on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Makes 9 dozen small cookies.
