SMOTHERED CABBAGE 
1 lg. head of cabbage, shredded
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lb. pickle meat
3 spoons cooking oil
Salt & pepper to taste

Cut cabbage in half and remove soiled leaves from top. Wash. Drain. Cut meat in bite-size pieces. Chop onion. In a large pot, brown meat. Saute onion until soft and lightly browned. Add cabbage, stirring as you add, until all is in the pot. Cook over medium fire, stirring often, until cabbage is a golden brown and tender.
