OATMEAL CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. molasses
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. oatmeal (quick cooking)
1 1/3 c. boiling water

TOPPING:

1/4 c. melted butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. pecans
3 tbsp. cream or milk

Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar; add eggs and molasses. Mix dry ingredients and add to mixture. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

Mix topping together and spread on top of cake. Put under broiler. Sugar will bubble, then turn golden color. Watch carefully - will burn very quickly.
