GRITTY CHOCOLATE ICING | |
2 1/2 sq. bitter chocolate 2 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. light cream (or milk) 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Put the chocolate, sugar, butter and cream (or milk) in the top of a double boiler over boiling water. Stir until the chocolate melts. Continue cooking until a drop reaches soft ball stage in cold water. Remove from heat and cool; add vanilla. Pour 1/3 on top of the bottom layer. Place top layer on and paint the sides with a spatula. Pour remaining icing on top to cover the entire cake. |
