WASH-DAY PEACH COBBLER 
1 stick butter or 1/2 c. butter
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. sweet milk
1 (No. 2) can sliced peaches

Heat butter in baking pan. Mix flour and milk and sugar, pour in pan over butter. Add peaches (fresh or frozen may be used). Add the juice from can for gooey texture. Bake at 375 degrees until batter comes to top and browns at 25 to 30 minutes.
