SCOTCH TEA COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg (unbeaten)
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream butter, sugar and shortening thoroughly. Add egg and blend well. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add with vanilla extract to first mixture; blend thoroughly. Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake in oven at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on thickness of cookie. If desired, press cookies with fork before baking.
