TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (8 oz.) can kernel corn, including liquid (frozen corn can be used with an extra 1/4 c. water)
2 to 4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 c. water

Saute meat lightly. Add chili powder, corn, tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Pour into 2-inch deep baking dish. Spread corn meal topping over all and bake in 375°F oven for 25 minutes.

Cornmeal Topping:

1/2 c. cornmeal
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt

Add cornmeal and salt to boiling water. Cook over low heat, stirring until thick.
