CHOCOLATE CHIP SPICE BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in dry ingredients and stir in nuts. Spread mixture in 9 x 13 inch pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top and press down lightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes. Cut into bars.
