PASTRY 
2 c. plain flour
2/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. softened butter
1 sm. jar apricot (or strawberry, plum) jam
Powdered sugar

Mix together all ingredients, except jam and powdered sugar. Blending in softened butter. Roll by handfuls into 3 small logs. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Indent in the middle and spread with jam. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool. Slice diagonally. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
