SOCK-IT-TO-ME CAKE | |
1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. Wesson oil 4 eggs 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. nuts (optional) GLAZE: 1 c. powdered sugar 2 1/2 tbsp. milk Put cake mix, sugar and Wesson oil in a 1 bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each is added. SLOWLY fold in sour cream. Pour half of the batter into the bottom of a well-greased and floured tube cake pan. In a cup mix the brown sugar and cinnamon with the nuts, if desired. Sprinkle this onto the batter in the cake pan. Pour the other half of the batter on top. Try t okeep it level. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. After 30 minutes check to see if it is browning to fast - is to lay a piece of aluminum foil on top. Do not seal it. Check with a toothpick at the end of the 60 minutes and remove from pan. IMMEDIATELY cover with the glaze, using a smooth knife to spread gently as it runs. |
