CRISPY OAT COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. reg. oats, uncooked
1 c. crushed corn flakes cereal
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Cream butter; add sugars gradually, beating well at medium speed. Add egg, beat well; add oil and vanilla. Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and remaining ingredients.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with a fork. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet and cool.
