OLD-FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to mixture and stir in well. Turn mixture onto lightly floured surface and knead like bread.

Pinch and roll small balls (1 to 1 1/2 inch diameter). Flatten with glass dipped in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
