GLAZED STRAWBERRY PIE
1/3 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 qt. fresh strawberries, washed
1 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
1 baked 8 inch pie shell

Add powdered sugar to 3 cups whole berries. Stir slightly and let stand 1 hour. Crushed remaining berries and mix with water. Mix liquid cornstarch and sugar. Cook, stirring constantly until clear. If needed, add a few drops red food coloring. Drain whole berries and fill shell. Pour hot sauce over top. Chill. Serve with whipped cream. This is best served the day it is made.

Another excellent pie can be made using vanilla pudding in bottom half of shell and then making up 1/2 of glaze filling for topping. Chill.
