HAMBURGER VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1 c. chopped onions
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. sliced celery
3 c. beef broth
3 c. water
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up
1/2 c. rice
1/4 c. ketchup
1 to 2 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. dried parsley flakes

In 4-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, brown ground beef with onions, carrots and celery. Drain well. Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover, simmer 25 to 35 minutes or until vegetables and rice are tender. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove bay leaf. 8 (1 1/4 cup) servings.
