CHOCOLATE STEAM CAKE 
2 c. plain flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and sugar together. In a saucepan, mix butter, shortening, cocoa and water. After this starts boiling, pour soda, salt, eggs and vanilla over dry mixture. Mix well and pour into a long pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

ICING FOR CHOCOLATE STEAM CAKE:

1 stick butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk

Bring this to a boil, stirring constantly. Add 1 box powdered sugar, sifted, 1 dash of salt and 2 cups pecans. Pour over cake while still warm.
