THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. nuts or sesame seeds
Jelly or jam

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in extract and salt. Add flour; mix well. Shape level measuring tablespoon of dough into ball; roll in nuts or seeds. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Indent centers with thumb. Fill with jelly or jam. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown.
