DROP SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 to 3 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. nuts

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk; mix thoroughly and add nuts. Drop from spoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. Yield: 4 dozen.
