CUMBERLAND BALLS 
1 stick butter
8 oz. pkg. pitted dates, chopped
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. nuts, chopped or broken
2 c. Rice Krispies
Shredded coconut

Stir together first 4 ingredients. Cook in double boiler (or heavy aluminum pan), until thick. Add nuts and Rice Krispies. Let cool. Form into small balls and roll in coconut.
