CORN FRITTERS 
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. corn (canned)
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 tsp. melted shortening

Beat the egg and add remaining ingredients; beat well. Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat (380 degrees) and cook until golden brown, 3 minutes. Makes 16 fritters.
