3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 scant tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 c. shortening (or 1/2 c. butter & 1/2 c. shortening)
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cut in shortening as for pie crust. Set aside.

In small mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add sugar, milk and vanilla; beat thoroughly. Mix well with dry mixture.

Roll out on floured surface and cut into shapes. Sprinkle with sugar or frost later. Bake at 400 degrees until light brown, about 8 minutes.
