COCONUT CRINKLES 
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/4 c. butter (softened)
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. all purpose flour (sifted)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. Richfood Tasteos Cereal (crushed to 1 1/2 c.)
3/4 c. flaked coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking sheet. In large bowl of electric mixer cream shortening, butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.

Blend thoroughly. Stir in Tasteos crumbs and coconut. Drop by level tablespoons onto baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
