CRANBERRY BREAD | |
1 c. sugar 1 egg 2 tbsp. Crisco 2 tbsp. hot water grated rind of orange 1/2 c. orange juice 1 c. whole cranberries 1/2 c. chopped nutmeats 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda Beat egg. Add sugar and Crisco in hot water, grated orange and orange juice. Mix well. Sift flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Add to liquid mixture. Mix well. Add cranberries and nuts. Put in greased bread pan and let rise 3/4 hour. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 325°F. Remove from pan after 10 minutes. |
