GOOD HOMEMADE BREAD | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 1/4 c. warm water 3 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. lukewarm milk 4 c. flour Mix yeast, warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar; set aside. Mix eggs, butter, 1/2 cup sugar and salt. Add milk and yeast mixture. Stir in flour. Dough will be sticky. Cover and let rise 2 hours. Turn dough into floured surface; work in some flour until dough is workable. Shape into loaves or rolls. Cover and let rise 2 hours. Bake bread at 325 degrees for 25 minutes, makes two loaves. For rolls, bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. |
