SPUD SOUP
5 to 6 potatoes
1 lb. bacon, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
1 to 2 onions, chopped
1/4 to 1 c. milk
2 to 3 tbsp. butter
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Boil potatoes until done. Drain water off. Mash with mixer just a couple seconds to break potatoes into chunks but not mash. Fry bacon until done and remove from pan. Drain off nearly all bacon fat and fry onion, until transparent, in bacon fat. Add bacon and onions to potatoes. Add milk until soup is the consistency you like. Bring almost to boil, but don't boil. Add butter, salt and pepper as you prefer.
