1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. diced apples
1/2 c. chopped
Nuts
Dash of salt

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add beaten egg. Sift flour and soda, cinnamon and salt together and add to first mixture, stirring well. Add apples and nuts. Pour into square cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
