SWEDISH BLITZ TORTE 
4 eggs, separated
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Beat butter and 1/2 cup sugar well. Add unbeaten egg yolks. Mix well. Sift flour and baking powder. Add alternately with milk.

Divide into two well greased 8 inch round pans lined with waxed paper circles. Grease paper too.

Using clean, dry beaters, beat egg whites until stiff. Beat in 3/4 cup sugar. Spread over cake layers and sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Bake 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Allow to cool a few minutes then cool on racks right side up.

Serve with whipped cream and fresh fruit (strawberries or peaches) between layers and on top. Eat it all or it gets flat. Very impressive for a dinner party.
