SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oregano
2 bay leaves
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
1/2 chopped onion
1 tsp. garlic salt
Dash of pepper
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
2 1/2 c. water
Pinch of baking soda

Cook onion in butter until tender but not brown. Stir in remaining ingredients (except soda). When it comes to a boil, add baking soda. After it has fizzed, add meat balls, and simmer for at least 1 hour. Serve with Parmesan cheese. Make at least one day before serving. FREEZES WELL.
