FRIED CORN 
4 slices bacon
kernels of 4 large ears corn
1 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. cold water

Cook bacon in skillet until crisp; drain reserving 2 tablespoons bacon drippings. Add corn, 1 1/2 cups water, sugar and salt to bacon drippings in skillet. Bring to a boil. Simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water in bowl; mix well. Stir into corn mixture. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour into serving bowl. Crumble bacon over top.
