MOM MOM'S SHOO FLY PIE 
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening or lard
3/4 tsp. salt

LIQUID:

2 c. molasses
2 c. cold water
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine crumb ingredients in large bowl with pastry blender. Mix ingredients for liquid in separate bowl. Starting with liquid, layer ingredients in 3 unbaked pie shells. Bake at 375-400 degrees for 45 minutes. Test for doneness like a cake and hope for a "wet" bottom.
