FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 onion

Sift together 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add 2 beaten eggs and 1/2 cup milk. Stir until batter is smooth. (If a thinner batter is desired, add more milk.) Slice onion; dip in batter and fry in cooking oil 1 to 2 minutes. Rings should be completely covered by oil during cooking.
