SOFT PRETZELS 
1 tbsp. yeast
1 1/3 c. warm water
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. coarse salt

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In large bowl, sprinkle yeast over 1 1/3 cup warm water and stir until dissolved. Gradually stir in sugar, salt and enough flour until soft and slightly sticky dough forms.

Knead dough on a well-floured board for 5-7 minutes. Add more flour if necessary until dough is smooth and elastic. Make 12 equal parts. Roll 15 inches long making pretzel form. Place 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

Mix egg and water together. Brush on and sprinkle with salt. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
