GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
6 med. potatoes
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
Pepper to taste
Sm. onion
1/3 c. hot water
1/8-1/4 c. vinegar
3 tbsp. oil

Cook potatoes until firm tender, peel while hot. Slice paper thin (potato salad will not taste good if potatoes are not paper thin). Chop onion very fine and salt, sugar and pepper. Pour hot water over first 5 ingredients. Then add vinegar and oil. Mix together. Serve at room temperature.
