GREEN PEPPER SKILLET BURGERS | |
2 lbs. lean ground beef 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. Wesson oil 1 lg. onion, sliced 2 med. green peppers 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1/2 tsp. ginger or dry mustard 2 tbsp. soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 6 oval steaks. In large skillet, lightly brown steaks in Wesson oil. Drain off excess fat, add onions to pan, cook until soft. Cut peppers into 1 inch squares and add peppers to pan. Pour in tomato sauce; blend in ginger and soy sauce. Cover, simmer 15 minutes to 25 minutes, or until desired doneness. Excellent served with rice. Makes 6 steaks. |
